**Please see class's welcome message to set up your child's Codeverse account PRIOR to the beginning of class! (Our program works best on a laptop--though iPads are allowed--and in the Google Chrome browser) Launch your kid's coding interest with an engaging introduction to coding - no coding experience required! Those with coding experience are, of course, welcome too! This course will incorporate "missions" with an animal theme to engage students in learning. Through interactive activities, we will introduce the basics and the core concepts of coding, helping your child create their very own video game using Codeverse's interactive platform! Our first game together will use concepts including [variables] and [methods] that will introduce our learners to the programming language of KidScript, the first programming language built for kids. These basic concepts will set up your learner to keep coding after our time together is done! After we have completed the basics of the game together, we will move onto customizations where each learner can make their game unique and be able to work at their own pace. At the end of class, kids can share their creation with the class, and then send their game to any cell phone number for your family to play around the dinner table! At Codeverse, our mission is to engage kids in learning while providing the tools and support for kids to become the creators of technology, rather than just consumers. We believe in kids and their imaginations. Our job is to empower, encourage, and support them as they turn their imaginations into reality. Our values and our teaching style coincide: - We nurture creativity - We encourage creative minds and always say "yes" to an idea and love to help build upon it. - We champion exploration - Tinkering, breaking, and fixing are the way great things are built! Even if we go off path a bit, we can turn it into a learning experience. - We celebrate individuality - All kids can learn to code and we personalize the experience to the learning styles and interest of every learner - We invent tomorrow - 65% of jobs kids will have in the future do not exist today! We teach coding but we also teach problem solving, logical reasoning, and critical thinking so that kids will be able to be successful in whatever the future holds. Thank YOU for choosing Codeverse!
Learning Goals
Students will learn/improve their understanding of: coding and technology, game design, coding concepts such as variables and methods, engineering basics such as gravity, physics and math, and most of all, creativity.

Parental Guidance
We would appreciate parents getting their children set up on our Codeverse platform prior to the beginning of class! If your learner requires additional help setting up their audio/video and screen sharing once in the Zoom session, parents should plan to stick around for the first 5 mins of class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Codeverse is an interactive coding platform designed for kids ages 6-13, of all skill levels! During our classes, learners will be introduced to the universal concepts of coding and learn the skills needed to create their very own unique games and mobile apps. The programming language that we teach is called KidScript. KidScript is the world’s first real programming language designed exclusively for kids! KidScript draws inspiration from (and acts as a gateway to) other popular programming languages such as JavaScript, Ruby, Python and Visual Basic.
At Codeverse, we believe in putting kids first. Our teachers will follow a curriculum and pace that is geared towards the ages and skill levels of the learners enrolled in each class. Learners will receive 1-on-1 attention, while also interacting and bonding with new friends! Our platform and our instructors are here to inspire creativity and build confidence in kids so that they can grow their understanding of the world of technology, and bring their imaginations to life!
