Young authors will find a home and true peers here in our Young Writer's Workshop. With a very small class size, only two to five students, everyone will have the opportunity to present their work at least once a month. We will have regular instruction on how to offer the best feedback to peers. The group will be moderated to be constructive, kind, and positive. This is a no trolls class. 55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All writing must be PG--in other words, no foul language, no explicit sexual or violent material. I realize that this can feel limiting, but I can give classic examples from the best writers in every genre that follow these restrictions. Also, all writing must be submitted first privately to the instructor via the teacher's tab. However, it is still possible that your student may come across material in another student's work they find disturbing.
