Class experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Students will learn emergent writing skills like brainstorming ideas about topics, drawing with details, writing letters of known sounds to make words to form sentences, and early basic grammar for the earliest writers.
To date, I have over 10 years of experience teaching young writers in the Writer's Workshop format which I feel inspires young writers to enjoy writing and build their own skills. One of my favorite experiences was when I introduced this format in my own preschool English immersion classroom as the lead teacher. I have continued teaching in this format with students both in a traditional setting, tutoring sessions, small homeschool co-op classes, and more recently online.
