Students will learn the writing process through a variety of genres by participating in each part of the writing process: brainstorming, planning, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing while improving their writing craft through different craft and grammar lessons.
I have taught Writer's Workshop and Multiage Elementary Writing classes for well over 10 years with students of various abilities in traditional classroom settings, small group classes through educational non-profits, and in my other similar Outschool Writing classes.
Students will be expected to finish there writing if they do not complete it in class, leaving one finished writing piece each week.
Students will need pencils, colored pencils/ crayons, erasers, and a writing notebook/ journal/ paper. If students would like feedback they will need to have some way to submit their writing to the teacher [a way to take pictures, scan, or type]. Students will also be able to print optional resources/ curriculum that I will create to support the theme of each week's class.
Students will be assessed via their in class participation in addition to individualized feedback if they submit their writing piece by Friday each week.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
