Young Learner's Laboratory - Science Experiments
Class experience
Students will watch and listen as I demonstrate and explain some fun visual science experiments. Students will be given the option to do most of the experiments themselves. We will be using common household items like: water, oil, vinegar, baking soda, balloons. A complete list of items needed will be provided in the material section. As a father to an active 6 year old, I know that learning must be fun. The early years of a child’s education is critical not only for their future success but also their enjoyment of learning. I want to start kids off right on this journey. I have a BA in Student Ministry with over a decade experience teaching children. I have over 3 years of experience teaching children on online platforms and pride myself on never letting kids get bored yet always be learning. I previously held to credentials through the State of Ohio Department of Education (now expired). I have a passion for helping children succeed.
Two clear empty containers (cup, bowl, jar) Water Liquid oil (Vegetable or olive oil works best) Table salt Empty plastic bottle (2 litter bottles work best but smaller water bottles work as well) A baloon (Not inflated) A funnel. (Plastic funnel works best but you could roll paper into a funnel if needed)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Some experiments have the potential to be messy, please plan accordingly. Some young learner may need help knowing which items we will be using next. It may be helpful for an adult to be available to assist them off of camera.
