Description

Class Experience

Week One:  June 5th - 11th
Topic:  Beginning Guitar Basic
*Please see supply list that will be used for each class.
*Parts of the Guitar 
*Proper way to hold and care for the guitar
*Tuning the Guitar if needed
*Strumming with a pick / fingers
*Placing a finger on string E

Week Two:  June 12th - 18th
Topic:  Learning Music notation, Chord Diagrams and the first song
*Strumming Notation - Music Staff / Bar Lines / Measures / Double Bar Lines / Treble Clef / Quarter note / Quarter Rest and...

Students will learn:
*Parts of the guitar
*How to hold the guitar properly 
*Proper way to strum the strings with and without a pick
*Hand position and placement of fingers
*How to read chord diagrams and to write them
*How to read and write music
*How to listen attentively while others perform

The learner will be asked to complete short Music Theory assignments found in the book and to practice daily.

*Please make sure that the nails on the left hand have been trimmed to make it easier to play and to produce a good sound!
