Class Experience

Becoming an entrepreneur takes creative thinking and it's great to have a group of people to bounce ideas off of. This ongoing social group provides that space.

We will cycle through learner led discussions around topics such as:

🔖generating biz ideas
🔖keeping track of money
🔖establishing pricing
🔖what the market will bear
🔖advertising
🔖online or in person
🔖fairs/markets
🔖writing advertising copy
🔖making signage
🔖presentation
🔖photography

Do you have an idea for a business? This could be anything from music (Yvonne's an electronic musician who creates background music for her D&D games) to knitting, sewing, modding, electronics projects, visual art, whatever you can put your creative mind to. We get together and talk about what we like to do, the ideas we have and in the process we hope you become inspired to try new things!

Our weekly meetings will focus on projects or ideas brought up by group members. We will share our creative efforts and provide each other with support and feedback to help improve our skills. All types of business ideas are welcome, for example: digital artists, product creators, photographers, programmers, or farmers. Learners are encouraged to bring their own projects as well as find work that inspires them to share with their classmates. Learners will practice giving and receiving constructive feedback in a kind and supportive way.

Please bring any supplies that you need for your specific projects. Session topics will be learner directed each week.

This is a focused social group created by the demand seen in the hangout/social group Making Friends Teens. Find it at https://outschool.com/classes/making-friends-or-teens

As this is a social group that is learner led with no curriculum, videos will not be shared with families to protect learner privacy.

Learning Goals

Students will socialize and present their creative endeavors to give and receive positive feedback. They will share what they have discovered in starting their own creative business and brainstorm solutions for each other. This is supportive networking!
Identity Development:
Having the opportunity to create art in a community setting gives learners ongoing support to develop their sense of self using art. Identity development using art helps learners connect to personal, social, cultural, historical, and
