As an educator, I have noticed some very creative young people and some that needed an outlet to tap into that right brain! One way to focus that energy in a productive and positive way is learning about entrepreneurship. In this class, we will do a case study on young entrepreneurs and their businesses to help spark their imaginations. Young entrepreneurs such as Mo's Bows, Mikaila Ulmer, Maddie Rae, Brandon and Sebastian Martinez, and other young people turning their passions into profit. We will also create a personal SWOT analysis that dives into skills, talents, passions, things they can do, and threats. We will then use that information to brainstorm business ideas. I have a passion for empowering and elevating young minds and hearts by giving them engaging and challenging educational classes and resources. With a focus on Art, Literacy, and Entrepreneurship, you will find that my classes surround creative expression, non-traditional ELAR classes, and leadership development/life skills. Some of the creative courses includes Photography, Zine Making, Powerful Posters ( a class around an issue they are passionate about). Some of the literacy courses will be The Heroe's Journey, Dystopian Stories and Writing, ELAR Semester and more. The leadership development/ life skills incorporate resume writing, learning their leadership style, self-advocacy, and project-based learning.
I have been teaching for 12 years in the above areas and know that my purpose and what I am gifted at is teaching. I am certified in ELAR, Special Education, ESL, and Therapeutic Arts.
I believe in helping to mold and cultivate humans and not robots and believe that subjects involving the humanities are vital for that. Giving young folks words and self-expression allows them to learn who they are and how they fit in this world.
I am a new fur mom to a spoiled Goldendoodle named, Canary.
