📚Profe Victoria
A little about our founder, Profe Victoria and what brought her to start Spanish with Littles.
Victoria grew up in a bilingual family- her dad was from Quebec and his first language was French. He never spoke French with her growing up though so she missed out on the opportunity to learn French. Even more importantly, she missed out on having a close relationship with her grandparents and many aunts and uncles because of the language barrier. Fast forward, and she was homeschooled but second language classes were not available. she was very interested in other languages and pretended to speak them all the time from a very young age. When she started public school in rural Vermont there was still no opportunity to learn a language. It wasn't until she was 17 that she finally was able to start learning Spanish and fell in love with it immediately. Even since that first Spanish class she has sought to learn more and more Spanish and finds so much joy in helping others learn too!
Profe Victoria, has been teaching since 2015. Victoria has a degree in Spanish with a minor in ESL. She worked as an ESL instructor at a community college from 2018-2019 and has taught language students online since 2018. She has been teaching on Outschool since 2021 providing Spanish lessons for ages 3-9. She also has experience coaching adults, which set her up for success as a leader at Spanish with Littles. Outschool families like yours have been learning Spanish with Profe Victoria for the last three years and their children love the energetic classroom environment she has created!

📚Profe David
David currently lives in Texas but was born and raised in Mexico City in a fully bilingual household
with an American mom and a Mexican dad. Growing up as a dual citizen, David was constantly
navigating Spanish, English, and cross-cultural communication; however, his passion for
languages was truly awakened when he transferred over from the Mexican to the American
schooling system. Having attended an American academy founded abroad specifically for
international students, David was afforded the privilege of meeting people from all over the
world (South Korea, Germany, Colombia, Brazil, China, the Philippines, Canada, and various
others) without having to leave Mexico City. Given his third-culture background and love of
teaching, David earned a Bachelor of Science in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M University
in 2019, acquired a Speech and Language Specialist certificate from the International Open
Academy in 2020, and completed his teacher certification under the Texas Education Agency in
2020.
David has over 10 years of experience in pedagogy from working at after-school programs for
at-risk youth, volunteering his time with educational non-profit organizations, and working as an
online tutor for struggling readers. In addition to working with students, David spends his free
time learning about other cultures, trying to pick up other languages, and delving deeper into his
own genetic history. Currently, David is working on learning Nahuatl, or Aztec, as a way to
reconnect to his long forgotten cultural heritage; he hopes to be able to practice his language
skills on his next trip back to Mexico. Having been on both the teacher and student end of
language learning, David aspires to make the linguistic experience as fun and as stress free as
possible. David’s favorite part of teaching is being able to witness the almost fantastical growth
that students experience when their innate curiosity is engaged, and he looks forward to
meeting his students be they native speakers or emergent bilinguals.

📚Profe Deborah
Deb has been teaching in a school classroom setting for the past 15 years and has a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She has taught Spanish classes for students from Kindergarten through high school age. She believes that communication is the key to all relationships and learning to communicate in a new language opens so many doors! She seeks to develop her learner's confidence and curiosity while fostering a love for learning Spanish.
Growing up, Deb's first opportunity to learn Spanish came in a high school Spanish class. She loved taking the books home and practicing the new words and pronunciation. An interest in Spanish was sparked but she didn't have a lot of opportunities to use the language. A few years later, in college, she met Cesar who was in the United States with a student visa. He was from Peru and spending time with him provided many opportunities to practice Spanish. They got married and moved to Tennessee to work within the Spanish community. Deb was completely immersed in a Spanish speaking world. Almost everyone she met spoke Spanish. Her language skills began to blossom. She started listening and processing and within a year she was able to hold complex conversations. Since then she has continued to study and learn. She loves to see children develop their language skills and build bridges of communication to make new friends and relationships!

📚Profe Isis
Profe Isis is originally from El Salvador. When she was 11 years old, her family moved to the United States. It was challenging for her to learn a new language, but it was fun at the same time. She remembers that those were the most fun classes in school. She would even go to summer school because she liked them so much. Thanks to all her effort and the effort and help from her teachers, she finally learned English and became bilingual. Now that she is a parent she likes to show her kids how useful and fun it is to know more than one language! She gets super excited and thankful every time they ask her what any Spanish word means. She volunteered in an English as a Second Language class for a few years and that gave her a sense of accomplishment, she took it as a chance to give back what she had received in those ESL classes as a student herself. She also had the privilege of working as an interpreter at a hospital which was yet another way to help her community and feel the impact of being bilingual.
Since she became a parent, and her kids became of school age, she has been able to volunteer in her kid’s schools. Before COVID, she volunteered a lot at their schools. While volunteering she came to appreciate the love for learning through kid's eyes. She finds it amazing how quickly they learn! Their love and enthusiasm for learning new things is so mind-blowing and it makes her super excited to be able to be a part of this special process of learning and growing for them! She is also grateful to be able to share how fun and exciting learning a new language can be!

📚Profe Shelby
Profe Shelby is originally from southern New Jersey. Although she only started learning Spanish in 9th grade, she quickly realized how much she enjoyed it! While in college, Shelby studied for a semester in Seville, Spain. Living in Spain improved her Spanish-speaking skills and allowed her to see more of the world. After receiving her degree in Spanish Education, Shelby moved back to Spain for one year where she taught English to elementary students in Madrid. She loves to travel and learn more about other cultures. Recently, Shelby visited Colombia and hopes to visit more Spanish-speaking countries someday!
Shelby has been teaching elementary Spanish for five years, and now lives in Queens, New York City. She believes that learning a new language should be engaging and fun! She loves incorporating games, stories, and songs into language learning. Shelby looks forward to supporting your child's language-learning journey!

📚Profe Katie
Profe Katie grew up in a small town in north central Ohio with limited access to second language education at the early childhood level. However, she quickly fell in love with the Spanish once she got to high school and began taking classes. She went on to take every Spanish class her high school offered.
Katie continued her education at the college level, earning degrees in Spanish and Journalism from Asbury University. She spent four months in a study abroad program based in Seville, Spain and later returned for a fellowship based in Madrid. Katie also took several classes on Teaching English as a Second Language while in college and was fascinated by the way the human brain is hardwired to learn language, especially during childhood.
As a college student, Katie also taught introductory Spanish classes at a community center and provided one-on-one tutoring to English language learners. In addition to teaching Spanish online, she fosters language learning in her hometown by organizing a monthly meetup for Spanish speakers of all proficiency levels. Katie has experienced firsthand the benefits of learning a second language. Speaking Spanish has opened doors and allowed her to make instant connections with people from around the world, paving the way for new friendships and a broader appreciation for different cultures. She’s excited to welcome your young learners into the virtual classroom.
