Description
Class Experience
Students will explore writing high interest topic sentences by using: (Examples follow topic sentence types) An interesting fact - With less than 100 living in the wild today, this bird is usually seen by humans only in zoos. A question - Did you know that cassowaries are almost as tall as a man? An anecdote - I've studied lots of animals, but this one is more fascinating than all the rest. A description - It stands five feet tall, with beautiful black, blue, and red feathers and an impressive and deadly claw on each foot.
None will be assigned.
Students will need paper (a journal or 2-3 pieces of paper) and pencil or pen.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No specific assessment - students may revise their writing during or after class if they so choose.
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
