This camps meets 1x a week for 6 weeks. Students will learn how to prepare and give six types of speeches using activities to build students’ confidence and poise when speaking in front of a group. They will adapt the speech focus and style to the assigned situation and purpose. They will practice speaking to express thoughts and feelings effectively. Students will be assessed using a rubric to include evaluation of student preparation and practice, speaking volume and speed, eye contact and gestures, use of note cards.
