Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Every great movie starts with a great script!

Learners will learn to develop a screenplay in much the same way as developing any type of writing. In this class, learners can either write from scratch or adapt a story they have already written.

C O U R S E B R E A K D O W N

Lesson 1: Intro to Movie Magic
Lesson 2: Story Structure
Lesson 3: One-Page Story
Lesson 4: Screenplay Format
Lesson 5: Revising and Editing
Lesson 6: Table Read

Learners can draft and write their scripts in a preferred word-processing app or in a notebook. Work should be uploaded each week to show progress.

Lessons will include a combination of video and interactive elements, such as Kahoot, Jamboard, and video/audio.

All lessons will be posted on Mondays, to be completed before the next Monday lesson is posted.

NOTE: Since many students may also be learning to write a structured story, I am not strict with scriptwriting format as long as their format makes clear what is a description vs. when a character is speaking.
