25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the alphabet in American Sign Language, how to introduce themselves, and some everyday phrases. They will learn that they are probably already using sign language like when they wave, hello and goodbye, or give a thumbs-up for a good job done. Students will learn to ask and answer, "What is your name?" "How are you?" and say please, thank you, and sorry. Correct handshape, palm orientation, facial expressions, movement, and location will be addressed, and we will have a blast while learning. I will use pictures, songs, and games while teaching the ASL signs and phrases. Connections with familiar topics will be discussed to help the students remember the concepts taught.
