Class Experience

PLEASE NOTE:  If your child has already been taking my, "You Can Read! Word Family Fun: Blending, Reading, and Writing Rhyming Words", ongoing class, this is the same class, but in a multi-day format. 

My name is Ms. Heather! I am so excited to begin this journey with your child! 

Is your child ready to begin reading? Do they know the alphabet sounds and are ready for the next step? Then this is the right class for them.  This class will help your child build their reading skills and...

Students will learn how to blend, spell, read, and write CVC words by engaging in fun and interactive activities.

I am a certified K-12 teacher and a Reading Specialist.  I have been teaching for over 20 years and my primary focus has been in  Language Arts for K-3.

Children can practice reading a short story from the class.

A handout will be sent each week.  If you are not able to print out the handout, no worries, your child can use any piece of paper or they can even write the letters in the air. 
Children will need a pencil.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

It would be appreciated if parents or guardians could please print out the handout prior to class beginning.  If you cannot print out the handout, your child can use any piece of paper or they can even write the letters and the words in the air.
