Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to seem to read another person's mind. The volunteer freely cuts the cards, looks at the selected card and buries it into the deck, then loses it deeper with even more cuts. The volunteer sends a mental image of the card, and the magician reads the volunteer's mind. The magician puts a card on the table, and when the spectator names the telepathically sent car, the magician turns it over and... It must be mind reading! I will perform it, and then I'll share the secret,...
Students will learn to demonstrate what it would be like if mind reading were possible. This is a professional quality mental magic routine that I personally use, yet is easy to learn, and gets jaws dropping. Your young wizard will seem to be able to read another person's mind and name a secretly selected card that the spectator "mentally" (telepathically) sends. Perhaps most important, the young magician will learn how to be a fun wizard, how to be entertaining and amazing, beyond just being tricky.
Optional: The student is strongly advised to do presentation and move practice, which every good card trick should have before it is presented. The student might want to write a script, practice a special look or gesture, and perhaps do these in front of a mirror or video record them.
The student will need a deck of cards in good condition. For smaller hands, "Bridge" size cards are preferred over "Poker" size.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
