Welcome artists! This is a short and fun class designed to get young artists started in animation, specifically traditional hand drawn animation! I will be demonstrating by using my own animation kit (see materials list below), which I will go over during class. This intro lesson creates excitement in art/animation and boosts confidence so that students can come to the realization that animation is something they CAN do and CAN be good at, even if they don't know anything about animation...
Students will learn how to get started in hand drawn animation as well as boost their confidence in their art and creativity!
I have my degree in Animation and have been a professional animator and animation teacher for 6 years now. I LOVE teaching these specific exercises because it is an exciting way to show students that they CAN animate!
For hand drawn animation, students have many options when it comes to supplies. Students ARE NOT required to have anything for this class, and are more than welcome to simply watch and decide later on if they wish to try out any of the supplies/materials that I use and will demonstrate during class.
