Class Experience

Welcome artists!

This is a short and fun class designed to get young artists started in animation, specifically traditional hand drawn animation! I will be demonstrating by using my own animation kit (see materials list below), which I will go over during class. This intro lesson creates excitement in art/animation and boosts confidence so that students can come to the realization that animation is something they CAN do and CAN be good at, even if they don't know anything about animation yet or are just starting out in their creative journey.

The first half of the class will be exploring the basics of animation and what makes hand drawn animation different from the other four types of animation. We will explore the foundation and fundamentals of animation and how you can create your own hand drawn animations at home!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to get started in hand drawn animation as well as boost their confidence in their art and creativity!

Supply List
For hand drawn animation, students have many options when it comes to supplies. Students ARE NOT required to have anything for this class, and are more than welcome to simply watch and decide later on if they wish to try out any of the supplies/materials that I use and will demonstrate during class.

What I use for my hand drawn animations:
