1 in-class hoursClass Experience
Welcome! This is a short and fun class designed to get young artists started in animation, specifically 3D/CG animation! We will be using a free program called Blender, but I will also discuss alternative programs for creating 3D animations. I will be sharing a couple beginner rigs to use for a short animation exercise. This intro lesson creates excitement in art/animation and boosts confidence so that students can come to the realization that animation is something they CAN do and CAN be good at, even if they don't draw often or are just starting out in their creative journey. The first half of the class will be exploring the program and basics of 3D animation. Then we will animate together step-by-step using the rigs provided. Once we get the hang of the basics of animation, students will use the rest of their time playing around with the program and rigs!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to get started in 3D animation as well as boost their confidence in their art and creativity!

Parental Guidance
This class will require students to have a free program called Blender downloaded. (Here is the link to the download page: https://www.blender.org/download/ ) This is a widely used program and it is safe to download to both Mac and PC computers. I will be screen sharing part of my lesson with the students so that they can follow along as I teach how to use the program and how to animate.
Supply List
Students will need to have Blender installed, preferably BEFORE class. I will share 3 rig files to each student before class to use for our animations.
