A career in healthcare is full of options and rewards. This course will introduce you to some of these professions and skills. In this class, you are a doctor, nurse, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, x-ray technician or other team member. We will use patient scenarios to approach learning with a hands-on method. The student will be able to discuss some differences in healthcare professions. The student will be able to give an overview of a body system and its normal functions. The student will be able to state how the disease process will interfere with the body's normal function. The student will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with and work with team members to care for the patient.
I have a master's degree in nursing education and teach in a registered nursing program. I have been a RN for over 20 years. I teach nursing students through lecture, clinical and learning scenarios.
