My family history in Yosemite goes back 100 years to my grandfather who worked directly for Mother Curry of Camp Curry in the 1920s. In the 1950s, my mother was in the Valley Singers choir that performed as part of the spectacular Firefall show. In the 1980s I began learning traditional Native-style basketry from world-famous Pomo/Miwuk weaver Julia Parker. I have also worked in the gift shops of the Ahwahnee Hotel. Today I live just outside the park in Stanislaus National Forest, where I can see the high peaks of the Clark Range from my living room window.
