Class Experience

In this 6 week course, students will learn about several types of yoga breath work to calm or energize their bodies as taught by a licensed yoga instructor. This course is perfect for students who would like to interact in meaningful ways with their classmates and teachers while creating their own private journal. Students will be able to practice breath work during the yoga portion of the class.
As a creative writing major and current classroom special educator, I am excited to share in a series of explorations through journaling prompts with my students following the breath work. Together students will work on individual journals and practice writing thoughtful notes about their feelings.
Each week students will review a series of slides that detail the week's theme with 1-3 creative prompts per class. To further the engagement between student and teacher, students will be required to complete a weekly survey through google forms. This will reinforce accountability and let students collaborate with the Instructor regarding their work. Each week students can share their progress through the Google form and provide feedback for their instructor.
Throughout the course, students will have the option to submit photos, videos and writing for review. Students will also be able to submit coursework that can be posted on the forum and receive feedback from peers.
The class each week will provide students with guidance on how to free write, a foundation for their journaling based on the prompt and structure on how to make time to journal. By the end of the course, students will have a fun, engaging creative outlet that can be turned to for pleasure, hobby and stress relief.
