Description

Class Experience

Students will gain a deeper understanding of Yoga asana (poses), breathing, meditation and art techniques and mindfulness-based stress reduction skills.
I am a certified Children's Yoga Instructor (2015) and Registered Yoga Teacher (200hr). I have 22 years experience as a Yoga practitioner and 5 years experience as a Yoga Instructor. I'm a Master's Candidate working towards my MA ('22) in Innovative Early Childhood Education, and I have a BFA ('04) in Studio Arts. I love creating and experiencing art of all kinds.
The daily Writing & Visual Art prompts encourage self-reflection and engagement with Yoga & Mindfulness practices. Students have the option to share these with the group, but if they choose not to that is absolutely fine.
*Comfortable clothes, bare feet or slip-proof socks
*A Yoga mat if you have one, but if not just find an area where you have enough room on the floor to lie down with your arms and legs fully extended. I don't recommend using towels or blankets to replace a Yoga mat, as they can cause you to trip or slip.
*paper and/or journal
*art materials of learner's choosing (i.e. markers, pens, collage materials, paint)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I listen to learner feedback and visually assess learner progress throughout the class as a way for me to determine how best to present my instruction.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Comfortable clothes, bare feet or slip-proof socks, and space to safely move around on the floor. Use a Yoga mat if you have one, but if not just find an area where you have enough room on the floor to lie down with your arms and legs fully extended. I don't recommend using towels or blankets to replace a Yoga mat, as they can cause you to trip or slip.
