What's included
1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. The more frequent yoga poses or meditation are practiced, the easier they become. Practicing outside of class is encouraged but not mandatory. I like to say, "Only practice meditation on the days you brush your teeth." :)Assessment
Students will be in charge of assessing themselves for growth in mindset, strength and flexibility.Class Experience
Your learner will be taught yoga postures, participate in mindfulness activities, meditate, and use breathing techniques to help calm the mind and the nervous system. This class is built to promote stress relief, improve flexibility, increase strength, and increase self-confidence and body awareness. Each class will begin slow, increase momentum, and then slow back down to allow for cooling off and deep relaxation (Savasana or Peaceful Garden). Your child will be given the opportunity to interact with peers throughout the class but may choose to "pass" should they feel like skipping their turn. January Class Themes: New Goals/New Intention, Winter Solstice, Gratitude, Physical Health February Class Themes: Breath, Centering, Posture. March: Tension, Nutrition, Sensations, Emotions April: Eclipse
Learning Goals
Students will become familiar with a variety of yoga poses, meditations and how the breath can be used to calm the body and mind. If students attend the class for several sessions they should gain body awareness, self-confidence and learn tools to help decrease anxiety.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
You understand that yoga includes physical movement and, as is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. By participating, you acknowledge that your child is fit to do so. If they experience any pain or discomfort, they agree to listen to their body, and discontinue the activity. You assume full responsibility for any and all damages, which may occur through participation. Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment.
Supply List
-A yoga mat, towel or non-slip socks are recommended for safety during activities. -Journal or piece of paper, pen or pencil. -Water bottle. -Comfortable clothing for movement activities. -Students may prefer to have something to cover their eyes and/or body during the deep relaxation portion of the class.
