Description

Class Experience

Learners will follow along with the teacher in this Spanish-language and movement immersion experience; will demonstrate understanding with Total Physical Response; will practice in short fun focused classes twice a week to hold their attention and keep things fresh.
I have taught young learners for many years (since 1996) and I keep learning from them too! I am a certified Yoga Teacher with 200+ hours in Hatha Yoga with Iyengar Placement (since 2006) - focusing on skills of holistic health and wellness through yoga. I hold my Basic Life Support CPR certificate from the American Red Cross and am a Wilderness First Responder - familiar with anatomy and healthy practices for different environments.
Learners should please attend class in clothes that are comfortable to move in. If there is a yoga or exercise mat at home that is great, and if not a towel or blanket works fine too. Bare feet please! Keep a water bottle on hand for good hydration!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This is a movement class and it is always advisable that students have a few minutes after class to stretch on their own, according to their specific needs.  The teacher will provide a warm-up in class, so no prior stretching is required beforehand.  It is always advisable to drink plenty of water and have a water bottle on hand during class for good hydration during exercise.  Modifications will be offered for learners with limited mobility, but there is an implicit understanding that learners and families will be responsible for only doing movements that are within the learner's limits and physical capacity.  Opting out of any exercise is always okay, and the teacher will mention this in English in each class.
