Young people are now faced with unprecedented challenges. It's more important than ever for them to have a safe space to destress and unwind. Yoga is a remarkable tool for stretching, strengthening, and relaxing both the body and the mind. This class is structured in a traditional yoga class format, with breathwork, a warm-up, strengthening and stretching poses, and a calming cool down in an encouraging, supportive environment. We will connect breath to movement as we work on maintaining flexibility, improving focus, and decreasing stress while moving through yoga asanas (poses) with purpose and intention. No prior experience is necessary. All ability levels are welcome in this judgement free zone. Modifications can be made to adjust to each learner's level. This class takes a laidback approach to developing a yoga practice, focusing on how each pose feels within the body in an uplifting, inclusive environment. Students are welcome to ask questions at the end of class. Interactions will be limited during class time due to the nature of this course and to allow learners to develop a personal practice. The class will follow the same format each week, but each class will have its own theme. Teacher expertise and credentials
As a homeschool parent, nurse educator, yoga instructor, and troop leader, teaching is my passion. I love helping children grow to their fullest potential.
I teach yoga and mindfulness classes for all ages. My classes often involve stories, movement, crafts, games, relaxation techniques, and self-empowerment.
When I’m not teaching, I love to read, write creative fiction, and play the piano. I especially enjoy traveling and spending time with my family, including our pets, a friendly cat and a silly dog. I’m also an excellent hula hooper!
I look forward to supporting your child in a fun, engaging, encouraging environment! I’m happy to put together courses upon request.
