Let's workout together! Friendship and Fitness! In this 30 minute yoga workout we will learn new stretches and poses each week as well as play fun games to learn muscle names and nutrition facts. Let's get active!

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Your child will learn various stretches, poses, and exercises throughout class. I will teach them proper form by modeling both the correct and incorrect ways to perform each pose. The goal of this class is to help promote a love for physical exercise and health! I seek to do this by providing a comfortable and inviting environment for the learners while we also build camaraderie with one another. I take pride in providing an engaging workout that your child will look forward to every week! 

Improvement in the areas of strength, balance, agility and awareness of their own body.

Ongoing group classes are great practice for developing social skills and building friendships with familiar faces. I never mute learners (except in cases of distracting background noise, etc).  

They will also be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association. According to the CDC, it is recommended that children and adolescents ages (6-17 years) should do 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day, including daily aerobic – and activities that strengthen bones (like running or jumping) – 3 days each week, and that build muscles (like climbing or doing push-ups) – 3 days each week."

According to the American Heart Association:

Active kids are more likely to have:
-a healthy weight
-stronger, healthier bones and muscles
-better heart and brain health
-improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving
-better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading and writing 
-lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some kinds of cancer
-less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression
-less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior
-improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem

-Small space clear of objects
-Water (for hydration)
-Optional mat or pad as many exercises will be performed on our knees or on the ground
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is suggested just to make sure your child is staying hydrated and resting when needed. But don't worry! We will take plenty of group water and breathing breaks!
