Class Experience

Students will get to experience a blend of creative flow through art and yoga. After the class is introduced and settled in, we will begin with a simple meditation. We will then explore 5 new yoga poses, a different set each week. As we get the energy moving through our body with each pose we can then take time to color a page for that pose, allowing that flowing energy to come out in a creative art form. All the poses can be put together in their own flow. Each week will have another set of yoga poses we will build up on. After a closing meditation, students will be able to share something with the group if they wish. Moving the energy through our body and then into a creative art is beneficial for mind, body, and spirit.

*Students will need to print the PDF file of yoga coloring pages for each class (6 pages for each class), if there is a problem with this please reach out for other options.

Yoga Disclaimer: This class will include some gentle yoga. No yoga experience is needed as the yoga flow will be gentle and for all levels, with modifications encouraged. It is important to have a clear space, a yoga mat or non slick floor, comfortable clothing for moving around, and drinking water. Yoga can be done safely as long as the individual is paying attention to how each pose feels and honoring any limits their body may have. If the student is unable to look out for their well-being it is suggested that a parent supervise from the side. During any yoga practice it is encouraged to make sure it feels good and right for you, even if it means modifying a pose or substituting a pose all together.

Learning Goals

Students will get to learn how to develop a practice to relax, find inner peace, tap into creativity, and just self reflect. Students will learn yoga poses, how to do them safely, and how to make modifications to be successful with each one. Students will get to be creative with their choice of coloring (pen, pencil, markers, crayons, etc) and will be able to learn how to express feelings through art.

Supply List
Teacher will provide a series of PDF's that will need to be printed by the student, one set of 6 pages for each week. The PDF for each week will become available 24 hours prior to the class and can be found in the classroom. If printing is not possible please reach out to the teacher for some alternative options.

Student will need a space to do yoga. A yoga mat is great, but any clear space without a slippery floor will work.

Student will need supplies to color (pens, pencils, markers, chalk, crayons, etc). Depending where student is, they may need a clipboard or surface to color on. As the student will most likely have the pages printed on standard printer paper, the use of water color or other paints may not be a good idea.
