Description
Class Experience
Students will learn to distinguish between metaphor and similes. They will then learn how to apply these rules to use metaphor as a descriptor of a significant man in their life and write a poem using applicable descriptions to describe him. We will start the class with examining the concepts together on slides, allowing each student to add examples. Then, each student will think about their particular metaphor, develop language around it, and write a draft. Sharing with the group to get...
Students will learn to understand the concept of simile and metaphor and write a poem using metaphor as a basis of description.
3 files available upon enrollmentA one page handout will be completed in class. Students will need pencils or pens and paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be assessed on the final poem product that they write.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
