In this fun filled class, learners will actively participate in speaking games and activities designed to both build confidence and new skills. We will discuss the fear of public speaking, the importance of non-verbal communication, and eliminating filler words. Every student will have several opportunities to speak and interact with classmates during our time together. Students will learn strategies to overcome any fear of public speaking and strategies to avoid filler words in conversation. They will also have the opportunity to practice organizing their thoughts and "thinking on their feet" as they participate in impromptu speaking games and activities.
I have a degree in secondary education and 11 years experience teaching year-long speech and debate classes to homeschoolers
Students should have paper and something to write with.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
