In this ongoing class, students who are non-readers and emergent readers with some familiarity of alphabet sounds, will be taught beginning reading strategies with Miss Libby, a 30-year veteran teacher! This ongoing class consists of 24 lessons. Please review the 24 lessons in the class description.

***All classes incorporate activities to make reading more engaging and FUN!!*** Throughout the 24 lessons below, I will introduce 40 sight words and several CVC word families Prior to Lesson #1 , children will receive lower alphabet letter flashcards AND list #1 of sight words. I encourage that your child review homework 10 minutes/day. You will need a printer to print out some of the reading homework. Learning Goals
Learners will learn to read 40 pre-primer sight word, learn how to decode CVC words, and use early reading strategies to enhance reading comprehension.

Parental Guidance
It is suggested that the parent/guardian is near the learner during class to assist and help the learner be on task.
Supply List
Learners will receive reading materials, created by Miss Libby. A printer will be needed to print out reading materials. All reading materials are optional to print, but these reading materials will reinforce the reading concepts/strategies taught.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
