In this 5-week class learners will make a different bread based treat every week, including Cinnamon Rolls, Apple Pull-Apart Bread, Sweet Pretzels, Donuts and develop their own unique product in week 5.
Class experience
In this class learners will make a bread based sweet treat every week. Week 1: Cinnamon Rolls Week 2: Apple Pull-Apart bread Week 3: Sweet Pretzels Week 4: Glazed Donuts Week 5: Yeast Recipe of your own design. Videos will be posted weekly. In which I will clearly show each step of the recipe. Learners can then follow the step by step instructions to create their own food item. And they can re-watch any step or pause whenever necessary. How to work with yeast and how to develop their own product using the basic skills they have learnt as a starting point.
An ingredient and equipment list will be provided every week with the recipe. But will generally require the following: Flour Yeast Salt Sugar Butter Cinnamon Eggs Milk Cream cheese Equipment: Mixing bowls Measuring cups Oven Mittens Rolling Pin Baking Trays Baking Paper Knife Spoon
Parental guidance will be necessary as learners will be working with various hazardous kitchen utensils and using a heat source. These recipes also contain various allergens including but not limited to gluten, dairy and eggs.
