You can always use a whiteboard or blank paper at home as well. Crayons, pencils, markers or whatever you have on hand can be used to complete lessons. Play-Doh is welcomed for both Math & Reading lessons. 🦋 Students will be unmuted as they enter class. However, I will mute all students when needed to minimize background noise. Please make sure your learner either knows how to mute/unmute or I ask that you sit with them during class, so they are able to share when it's their turn. 🦋 Share time is very important. I want every student to get a chance to share their thoughts, so I will encourage my students to raise their hand or use my class signal. This allows everyone an opportunity to share while being courteous to others. 🦋 Students will also play games like Kahoot to practice skills they have learned. You may have to help your learner to find the link in the chat box to join the game. *Daily Class Routine* Greetings & Would you Rather game Days of the Week Months of the Year Calendar Time Closing/See You Next Time: Wave!! Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I am Mrs. E. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified to teach (Pre-K) through 6th grade (all subject areas).
I have been a teacher for nearly 15 years in the public school system. Furthermore, I have taught students from the ages of 3-14 during this time. I have taught first grade as a generalist for 5 out of the 15 years in the public school system. Additionally, I have taught fifth grade mathematics and social studies specifically for 4 out of my 15 years of experience. I have taught in an inclusive setting where at least a third of my students were exceptional education students. I have facilitated a variety of ELA and ESL lessons geared toward reading skills and language development.
My teaching style is student-centered and hands-on. I believe that learning is a lifelong process; therefore, I will help my students to learn concepts better by presenting them in a manner that is relevant to the learner. Whether it's moving, singing, using virtual manipulatives, or markers and construction paper, my students will be engaged and excited about learning!
An interesting fact about me is that I own a small business where I create pure vegan lotions and handcrafted soaps. Encouraging and helping others to be healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally is another passion of mine.
