Class Experience
In this class, students will prepare for the third grade reading test through learning about test taking strategies and practicing common core reading skills that will be helpful to have when reading excerpts. Students will read essays and paragraphs, learn how to take notes while reading and highlight any important information necessary to deepen their understanding of the text. Students will work on perfecting writing responses that are sure to make them ready for the third grade reading...

In this weekly course, students will gain test taking skills and strategies to prepare for the third grade reading guarantee test. Students will also develop confidence to help overcome testing anxiety.
As a third grade teacher for 2 years and experience with testing students, I am familiar with the Ohio testing platform for the third grade reading guarantee. I am also comfortable teaching the common core standards that third graders need in order to move on to fourth grade. I have my masters in Educational Literacy and I have 7 years of teaching experience in the classroom setting.
Students will be responsible for completing writing and reading assignments as necessary to help prepare for the next class. Please see course description for more information regarding assignments.
