Year-Long A-Z Book Club: Creative Reviews & New Bibliophile Friendships
What's included

Join us on a year-long literary journey where learners read books from A to Z. Our group meets every other week to discuss our latest books. In other words, participants will read two books/month for this class. How do we choose our books? We’ll be working our way through the alphabet! The title of our books will begin with A, then B, then C, and so on. The choice of book is entirely up to your learner. We’ll all be reading something different! When we get to difficult letters like Q or X, we can certainly brainstorm to uncover hidden gem titles as well. Our diverse group of readers will come together to share their unique experiences and perspectives on their chosen books, creating a rich variety of literary exploration. We encourage creativity in how learners present their bi-weekly book reviews. Learners can craft a captivating book trailer in iMovie, scrapbook their thoughts and feelings, or even recreate the book cover featuring their favorite scene to share with the group. These varied forms of expression allow participants to engage with the book in a way that resonates most with them, making each meeting a dynamic and inspiring event. This is more than just a book club; it's a space to celebrate the joy of reading, experiment with different genres, and share a love for books with fellow enthusiasts. Our goal is to foster a deep love of reading and build a vibrant community of bibliophiles. Whether your kiddo is a lifelong reader or a reluctant reader, our book club offers a welcoming environment to explore new titles and genres. New learners can join at any time. They’ll just jump in with a book that begins with whatever letter the group is on at the time. They can cycle back around past A to complete the whole alphabet after the group reaches Z. Learners can also stay in the group for multiple years because they can choose new titles each time they progress through the alphabet. All of our classes are inclusive and welcoming. Also, at Hub of Curiosity, we believe that audiobooks, graphic novels, good old-fashioned paperbacks, and any other input source are all incredible story adventures. We never judge! So however your learner interprets information best, works in this group. Let's read, create, and connect, one letter at a time! Our schedule for the year is as follows: (Sample format — Week of XX: Book titles that begin with the letter X) 2024 — September 1st: A September 15th: B September 29th: C October 13th: D October 27th: E November 10th: F November 24th: G December 15th: H December 29th: I 2025 – January 12th: J January 26th: K February 9th: L February 23rd: M March 9th: N March 23rd: O April 6th: P April 20th: Q May 4th: R May 18th: S June 1st: T June 15th: U June 29th: V July 13th: W July 27th: X August 10th: Y August 24th: Z Sample format for those joining January 2025 Week Of: December 29th, 2024: A January 12th: B January 26th: C February 9th: D February 23rd: E March 9th: F March 23rd: G April 6th: H April 20th: I May 4th: J May 18th: K June 1st: L June 15th: M June 29th: N July 13th: O July 27th: P August 10th: Q August 24th: R September 7th: S September 21st: T October 5th: U October 19th: V November 2nd: W November 16th: X November 30th: Y December 14th: Z

Meagan is an avid reader, but that wasn’t always the case. In school, Meagan skimmed (if we are being generous) many of the books assigned and thought reading was torture. It wasn’t until Meagan left school and discovered the freedom to choose her own books and read purely for the love of reading that she fell in love.
Meagan’s sweet spot in historical fiction and devours anything set during WWII and in Europe. She’s a passionate bookworm and eager to embark on this year-long challenge with learners.
Meagan has been leading a book club on Outschool entitled Rebel Girls Book Club: Amazing Women in Historical Fiction for about 4 years.
This class is new and doesn’t have any reviews yet, but feel free to explore feedback on Meagan’s other book club experience on Outschool here: https://outschool.com/classes/rebel-girls-book-club-amazing-women-in-historical-fiction-VJ3hMv29?refuid=C19DrybH
