This class is designed to cover key areas of the SATs English curriculum, with a particular focus on mastering the intricacies of grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as developing advanced reading comprehension strategies. Each session will feature targeted exercises and practice tests that closely mirror the format and content of the SATs exams, helping students to build confidence and familiarity with the types of questions they will encounter. Lessons are structured to reinforce essential skills while also pushing students to apply their knowledge in increasingly complex ways. My teaching approach is focused and supportive, aiming to alleviate exam stress by building competence and resilience. Through a combination of individual practice, group discussions, and tailored feedback, students will be encouraged to think critically, express themselves clearly, and approach their SATs with a positive, can-do attitude. This class follows British English grammar and punctuation conventions, ensuring that students are fully prepared for their exams.
Learning Goals
Students will demonstrate understanding of basic grammar concepts by identifying and correctly using nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs in sentences.
Students will apply reading comprehension strategies such as retrieval and inference to answer questions about fiction and non-fiction texts.

I have a passion for working with language and languages and love to share my enthusiasm for multilingualism with my students.
I have studied linguistics as an undergraduate and applied linguistics as a post graduate before completing my PGCE and qualifying as a foreign language teaching in the UK.
I have been teaching for about 4 years and tutoring for about 5, working with students improve their French and English. I taught in schools for two years before setting up my company to teach online. I currently work with platforms teaching classes for the UK curriculum, both group classes (up to 20) and 1:1. classes.
I enjoy making my students laugh in the lesson and making them feel comfortable and providing an enjoyable classroom environment. I use sentence builders to provide my students with as much support as they need throughout their learning journey and I tend to favour task based learning and lots of input. I give my students lots of models before asking them to produce any language.
I love to cook and play around with clay to create tiny plant pots. I have a tiny applehead chihuahua named Sanka.
