☠️🟣Year 1 Spanish Reading Book Club (Novel-Tumba & Day of the Dead)
In this 8 week book club, students will learn Spanish by reading comprehensible novels. Through reading and class discussion, students will increase their reading and speaking proficiency while gaining confidence in the target language.

Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in Spanish.
There will be a combination of videos, audio excerpts, pictures/infographics, discussion boards, or music, and, of course, stories all focused on a specific topic. We will learn new vocabulary in the context of the story each lesson. These items will be available for you to go practice with optional activities.
I have been a certified Spanish teacher for the past 24 years. I have a masters in education. I lived and studied in Spain for several years so I have a true Spanish accent (castellano). I have attended CI (comprehensible Input) conferences and implement the CI teaching strategy into my lessons.
Homework will consist of completing practice activities. Practice activities will be completed individually and may take up to 20 minutes each week.
Tumba novel will be utilized during this class. Book can be purchased at Wayside publishing if you would like your own copy. I will provide reading materials during class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
They topic of death is discussed during this class. Google Slides/Screensharing- Class will be delivered using Google presentations and screensharing. Pear Deck- Is an educational site that I will use to create more engaging lessons. If this site is utilized, I will share the log in code via Outschool platform. Students log in with a class code. Gimkit & Kahoot- I will assign optional activities on these educational platforms for reinforcement games/activities. There will be a student log in code for this class accessible via Outschool messaging Youtube- I use this platform to share educational videos via screensharing.
Tumba is novel will be utilized during this class. Book can be purchased at Wayside publishing if you would like your own copy. Youtube will be used to show videos. Pear Deck and Google slides will be used to deliver class information.
