Students will learn about the history behind the musical Six. They will critically discuss the artistic choices of the creators of each song. Students will use the information they find and their own critical thinking skills to determine how effective the creators were in conveying their message. Students will explore the musical Six through an aesthetic and historical lens and apply what they learn to analyze the musical critically.
Learners will need to listen to the song from the Six: The Musical cast recording that we will be discussing before class starts. There will be some optional questions that students will be able to respond to in the classroom before the start of each session. We will use those questions as a springboard for our discussions and activities.
*Students will need access to a recording of Six: The Musical (can be digitally purchased through iTunes or Amazon- $12)
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be listening to Six: The Musical, which contains some adult language and themes.
