This class is to discuss our latest YA fiction reads. This class is perfect for fans of series like the Hunger Games, Divergent, Lunar Chronicles, Harry Potter, and others. We can discuss parts of the books we liked or didn't like, as well as movie adaptions. This will also be a great group to find out about new series to try! We can also share fan art, fan fiction, and even personality quizzes. Students are encouraged to discuss, debate, and analyze their favorite books as we promote...

I have a master's degree in adolescent social studies education but I also have a bachelor's of fine arts in creative writing and have read tons of YA fiction!
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
YA fiction includes themes such as love, relationships, identity, and friendship- but also themes like war and oppression. Students will discuss any YA book they are currently reading and discuss them. Students are expected to engage in respectful discussion.
