Class Experience

Students will listen and comprehend the story "Turkey Trouble" by Wendy Silvano read aloud. Students will be able to follow along with the story and retell the story. Students will be able to come up with their own disguise idea, and disguise their very own turkey!
I have been a classroom teacher for 10 years! This was always one of my favorite lessons and activities to do with the students in my classroom. It is so fun to see their turkey disguises!
Students will be given time to work on their turkey disguise in class, but if they do not have time to finish it can be completed at home and shared in the classroom!
 1 file available upon enrollment
Basic Craft Supplies (crayons/markers/scissors/glue) There will be 2 printable pages provided before class. - Story Cut Out Page (used for following along and as a guide while retelling the story). - Turkey Coloring Page (this will be used to disguise a turkey). Students should also bring any materials they want to help them to disguise their turkeys. Students will be able to color, add stickers, glue different materials, and get creative to make their costume that will help to disguise their turkey picture. (It is helpful for students to have an idea of how they would like to disguise their turkey before class, so they are prepared with any extra materials they will need).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The story cut out pictures should be cut out prior to class for students.
Students may use scissors or glue while decorating their turkeys. Parents can be nearby to support with these items when necessary.
