Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will review American coins and bills, and then apply that knowledge to maintain a budget and create a shopping list for purchasing holiday gifts.

This class will be both lecture and interactive, beginning with a brief lecture reviewing monetary concepts, followed by interaction of participants to follow a purchasing budget and create a shopping list.

Further develop the learner's understanding of American money and using available money to create a budget and to make purchases without going over their budget.

It is my educational philosophy to always make learning fun, hands-on, and engaging!

I am a certified teacher with over 5 years of experience teaching 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade in public schools. I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I also have a year of experience teaching Kindergarten Readiness to preschool students.

An *optional* practice worksheet will be uploaded to the classroom after the class session to allow for more practice with the skill.

-Printable worksheets *uploaded to the classroom 48 hours prior to class* should be printed and available during class.
-blank paper and pencil *OR* white board and dry erase marker

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
