Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the basic story elements of the book, plot, characters along with other literary devices. As we discuss the story, we will learn about making connections to real life and making predictions about what will happen or could happen. We will also look into the Pevensie children's personalities and try to see things from their perspective as they find and experience adventure in Narnia. We will also learn MANY new vocabulary words as the author's writing is incredibly descriptive through his description of the world around them. In addition, students will learn the art of discussion including taking turns and sharing thoughts, ideas and projects with other students and Miss Lisa. Students are encouraged to share in the discussion and ask questions!
Along with reading, homework will include creative writing, poetry and art/nature exploration. This will be explained after the discussion portion of our lesson each class.
Owning a copy or borrowing a copy of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is necessary in order to participate in the book study well. Students may also listen to the audio book as well.
