US Grade 5 - 8
In this fun class, learners will compete in a Kahoot challenge (created by me) to review, strengthen and/or and test their knowledge of WWII. Multiple choice and true/false questions are built in with 15-20 seconds to complete each question. Kahoot can be accessed by learners on a separate device or on a different tab, using the app or just going to https://kahoot.it/ entering the game pin (that I'll share in class). No Kahoot account is required to participate. *Most learners have used Kahoot before, so if any parents need more information about this engaging game please ask your learners or send me a message. Some prior knowledge of WWII would be advantageous for learners who participate, although gamification has been shown to help with memorization and engagement- so learners with less knowledge, would still benefit from the practice. I will teach this Kahoot challenge enthusiastically, like a game show host, and encourage everyone to do their personal best- and to also have fun! While Kahoot is competitive, all students should treat each other with respect and kindness. This will be a positive classroom competition. Depending on the number of learners enrolled and the speed at which the game is played, the Kahoot challenge may be played twice. If this happens, in the second round learners will not only play against the other competitors, but also against their own round one scores. This allows them to demonstrate growth and celebrate improvement. If interested but outside of the age-range, please send me a message. My availability is set to allow parents to self-book this class for days/times that are preferred.
