Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My name is Shannon McAuley and I am so excited to be teaching your scholar. I have my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education K-3, and my Masters in Special Education in K-8. I teach full time in a public school as a Special Education teacher as well as teach English online to students from China as a part time job. I have been teaching at the public school I work at since 2017 and have been teaching English online since 2015.
I also have been in the Army Reserves since 2011. I am currently an E6 and will be commissioning to officer this year. Due to this, I have an excellent understanding of the military and will be hosting classes to discuss concepts with students who are interested to learn more about the military.
In my free time I love working out, reading, and creating music and art. I will have upcoming classes on these topics as well, so please look for them if you are interested in these topics.
I believe that teaching should be fun, engaging and spark students curiosities. One of the most effective ways for people to learn is by engaging in content that they find interesting and is delivered in a no-judgement zone. It is important for students to feel comfortable to ask questions while having a fun time learning in class.
I look forward to meeting your scholars on their learning adventure!
