US Grade 3 - 6
🎓 This course is perfect for learners who want to improve their creative writing and overall syntax structuring and organization skills to develop greater confidence in their ability to effectively apply their writing strategies. 😁🖱🖌️💻🔌We'll meet weekly for fun and interactive classes where we'll complete activities to help us understand and apply our creative writing strategies. By the end of each class, learners will demonstrate their acquired knowledge for each strategy learned, and by the end of the course, in a final review game. Day 1: Prewriting Learners will generate ideas and organize information for writing by using prewriting strategies such as brainstorming and graphic organizers while making a plan that prioritizes ideas and creative purpose, audience, main idea, and logical sequence. Day 2: Drafting with 'Word' Imagery Learners will categorize ideas, organize them into paragraphs, and blend them within organized paragraph structures. We will incorporate vivid 'word' imagery through figurative language for learners to create an expression of ideas. Day 3: Editing and Revising Learners will elaborate, delete, combine, and rearrange text through revision techniques by adding transitional words and connecting the conclusion to the beginning. Day 4: Publishing and Final Review Game Learners will review selected published pieces to analyze the writer’s intended audiences and appropriate formatting. We will incorporate correct use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other features of polished writing, such as clarity, varied sentence structure, and word choice. The information will be delivered through instructional talks, open-ended questions, class activities, creative writing exercises, and a final review game. .................................................................. 👥1:1 Private Tutoring class link: Coming soon! .................................................................. 🏷Take $14 off the day of camp!
