In this course, students will learn how to become descriptive and confident writers while improving their understanding of vocabulary words.

We will start each class with a short writing warm up. The teacher will provide a prompt, based on the students' interest. Students will have the opportunity to share their writing with their peers. After our writing practice, we will do a vocabulary activity to build our knowledge of different words. We will focus on three to four new words per session. Students will be introduced to the word, asked to write the word, and discuss how to use it in a sentence. Students will have the opportunity to use the vocabulary words in a sentence. At the end of each class, we will play a vocabulary review game to practice our understanding of the words. *Before the start of our writing class, I will provide a prompt for students to complete. If parents would like, their child can complete the short prompt and scan a copy to send to me. I will review the writing and send feedback to the parents.
