This ongoing 14-week class provides a refreshing approach to writing.

One of the obstacles learners face when it comes to writing is figuring out what to write about or in general, what to even write. In addition, the process of preparing to write (the brainstorming and organization of information) is another hurdle. Then, there are many students who simply dislike the "task" of writing.

The initial focus of each class is to help your learner to access and expand his/her thoughts, ideas, desires, and knowledge. As learners discover more about themselves and the world around them in this safe space, their self-esteem and confidence will build. As a result, your learner will become excited and eager to express him/herself.

The next step is providing a topic that generates interest. A different topic, prompt, and purpose is presented each week. While each learner will think and take notes independently based on his/her own view point and passions, together we will brainstorm and plan for what we will write. I provide step-by-step guidance, templates, and formats.

Then, it's time for your learner to easily transform the completed template or format into a complete, polished, and impactful paragraph. Each learner will write independently, but no one is writing by him/herself. I model the writing so your learner will see concrete examples.

Although this is a "writing" class, I believe your learner will view each interactive and productive class as a rewarding experience!

The Class Format:

✏️ Introducing & Explaining the Topic
✏️ Brainstorming & Discussing
✏️ Personalizing the Topic & Note Taking
✏️ Planning/Organizing Notes (with my guidance and use of a template)
✏️ Transforming the template into a paragraph
✏️ Quick edit for capitalization and punctuation
✏️ Discuss Joys & Challenges of Class

[If your learner's goal is to write grammatically-correct sentences, I encourage you to consider one of my Parts of Speech classes. At the same time, if your learner is thoroughly enjoying this class and wants to enhance his/her writing, I will review and edit your student's writing if you take a picture and send it to me via Conversations at least 48 hours prior to the next class.]
