This ongoing class is all about creative writing around fairy tales. The learners are encouraged to be as creative as they want to be for their stories. Each week we will use a fairy tale to guide us in our own writings. The learners will use the fairy tale for the week to write their own version of the events. The class will begin by reading or retelling a quick version of the fairy tale. Then we will brainstorm ways to change the story. Examples include character, setting, an important event, etc. The learners will have approximately around 10-15 minutes to write their stories before sharing. If the learners do not finish their story before class, they may finish the after class then post it in the classroom. The learners will need to be able to write without help. The learners can spell the words to the best of their ability. This class works on creativity and getting their ideas on paper. This class is not for editing, revising or correcting spelling. Hello! My name is Kellie. I have over 15 years of experience teaching students in a variety of settings.
I have continued to expand my teaching experience and explore new areas of interest. I have taught students of various ages and backgrounds, both in traditional classroom settings and online platforms.
I strive to create engaging and interactive lessons that cater to each student's unique learning style, fostering their confidence and love for learning.
In terms of my qualifications, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood and a Reading Endorsement. My passion lies in teaching foundational skills, particularly in reading. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to learn, but it's important to recognize and accommodate their individual learning needs and pace. In my classes, I provide multiple approaches to learning a concept, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to grasp it in a way that resonates with them.
Beyond my teaching experience, I have a diverse background in agriculture and farming. My husband and I are actively involved in raising quarter horses for working cow horse competitions. I find joy in merging my love for agriculture with my teaching endeavors, incorporating elements of farm life and nature into my lessons. It's a unique way to engage students and broaden their understanding of the world around them.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I'm excited to connect with more learners and families, and I look forward to the opportunity to inspire a love for learning in your child.
