Students will be able to explain how setting plays an important role in shaping literary texts. Students will analyze various author's writing to identify elements of good writing techniques in relation to settings. Students will write create a setting to begin their own creative writing piece.
I am currently hold the following educational certifications through the state of Florida: Reading K-12, Literacy Coach Endorsement, K-6 Elementary, ESL K-12.
Homework Offered
Prior to class, students should think about their favorite setting in a fiction book. They will share this at the beginning of the class. Learners are also encouraged to send work to the teacher after the class for feedback on the work's strengths as well as opportunities for growth.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

The student should feel confident writing a paragraph on their own.
-Notebook paper, possibly a sketch pad -Pencil or pen (or a digital way to capture ideas and write) -Student's favorite fantasy novel/s (if they have one available on hand).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
