Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing class, students will have the freedom to review, develop, and expand their vocabulary. Often times, these kinds of classes are done for younger students, but I have learned from my own classroom experience, that older students can benefit from this as well. Some students have trouble remembering meanings of words, spellings of words, which words sound the same but are spelled different, words that are spelled the same but pronounced different. This class will address...
Students will review vocabulary they may have already had, learn new vocabulary, and use the words we go over in class to create a story to show comprehension of the words and writing fluency.
I am a certified ELA teacher and taught in the classroom for three years. Beyond ELA specifically, I have over 10 years teaching experience in and outside of the classroom from preschool to high school age. I also have a TESOL certificate, a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Intercultural Studies.
There may be handouts for class. If a handout is required, they will be uploaded to the classroom page.
If a handout is uploaded for a lesson, please have it ready for class. In addition to this, have notebook paper and a writing utensil ready.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be done informally via class participation.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Notebook paper and a writing utensil. If there is a handout on the classroom page, be sure to print it off.
