Other Details

Learning Needs
I have extensive experience working with special education students and all students who have an exceptionality. As an educator, I utilize differentiated (and individualize instruction) for all students at all levels working with all needs.
Parental Guidance
None! In this style of class, I like to work with both student and parents to focus on current writing activities that they are working on needing extra assistance, and/or allowing students a wide range of choice that fits the standards of middle and high school curriculum as well as content standards. I find that when students are able to pick a topic they are interested the writing process becomes easier and the ability for us to celebrate success.
Pre-Requisites
No prerequisite require - any level of writer welcome!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have twenty years of teaching experience, which was mostly in public education as an educator, principal, and/or director. Even going back to when I was in high school I was learning the ropes of teaching, and my BA in history as well as secondary education placed a lot emphasis in being within our partner schools. I also was a speech and debate coach during college. I have twelve years as an English/Language Arts educator and twenty years teaching history. In both settings a lot of writing was integrated into my classes. Specific English/Language Arts classes taught include: World Discovery Seminar (Socratic Method & Honors Credit) English along side history in the same program. I also spent three years as a special education English Resource Teacher that used the co-teaching model in an inclusionary classroom. I am published with an academic paper on the Integration Career and Technical Education and Academic Curriculum. I am also working on a couple of books at the moment.
