Description
Class Experience
The students will learn the history behind cursive writing so that they can develop a deep appreciation for this style of handwriting. The students will learn how to form each uppercase and lowercase letter in cursive.
I have grown up using cursive as an everyday form of handwriting. I have worked with children in different educational settings and have been disappointed that the classic art of cursive is disappearing. I would like the chance to walk students through the process of learning to write in cursive so that the art can stay alive.
It is preferred for the students to continue practicing their cursive writing in between the two class meetings.
The students will need lined paper, a pencil and either colored pencils (preferred) or crayons.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The students will be assessed based on the form of their cursive letters that they write on their ruled paper (the letters and words that they write in marker will not be assessed). The students will write a complete sentence on their ruled paper at the end of class which will serve as their formal assessment.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
***Please be advised that I do teach every class, even if only one student is enrolled. If your child is the only one in the class and you wish to have them transferred to a section with more learners or withdrawn altogether, please send me a message and I will make the necessary arrangements. Thank you!***
